Parveen Hassan, WEF Women of Excellence Winner
Speaker: Parveen Hassan, Women Economic Forum, WEF
The Women Economic Forum (WEF) is the conference arm of ALL Ladies League, the largest global women chamber in the world with our 800 chapters and having outreach to 100,000 inspiring women in 150 countries. I was honoured to receive the Women of Excellence Award for my volunteering work on empowerment projects for Bangladeshi women.

At the two day conference, my speech focused on the importance of social investment and charity. The case study on the Rohingya Crisis, and campaigning for safe spaces for women and girls in Bangladesh.

The work of NGO’s carry out globally to ensure women are educated, build skills and independence to come out of poverty. It was an opportunity to share with 200 women the work carried out by change makers and volunteers. I highlighted my visit to Kutupalong refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar to see the Rohingya crisis.

The speech inspired many women. I have been invited to speak at WEF in Australia in 2019, on global injustices and the work of volunteers empowering women in Bangladesh. It is so important to give back to the community through volunteering.
Passionate about addressing gender inequalities.

Lead Speakers: Parveen Hassan, Eline Pedersen, WEF
I want to ensure fairness and justice is paramount. My preferred choice to share knowledge and expertise where there is a greater need with Bangladeshi women.
I was delighted to receive the honour of the Women of Excellence Award by the World Economic Forum as one of the 26 Awardees during the evening.
