  • Women Driving Political Change

I was delighted to be invited to address the Conservative Party Conference visitors and delegation for the Conservative Friends of Bangladesh (CFOB).

Parveen Hassan & Maria Miller MP
CFOB National Chairman sought ambassadors to champion the successes of CFOB.

I explained the importance of the role the Bangladeshi community plays, engaging communities to build relationships between the Conservative Party, Bangladesh and the UK. The group stronghold is spread across 27 branches across the UK with 400 members.

It was encouraging to positively highlight the CFOB social action project in Bangladesh. CFOB supporters and volunteers participated with parliamentarians with CFOB Patron Nicky Morgan MP.

The project aims to continuously promote social mobility for Bangladeshi’s in Bangladesh, mainly in Dhaka and Sylhet. Volunteers actively worked on community projects in sport, health and education.

Parveen Hassan with Katy Bourne
Conservative Party visitors, and guests were engaged with party volunteers during the annual conference in Birmingham.

Visitors learnt more on the successes and achievements,
how the group promotes political ties, enhancing relationships, and creating social mobility for Bangladeshi’s, as part of the international development social action programme.

It was an ideal opportunity to promote Bangladeshi women in public life.

There was an annual reception to host the 10 year anniversary in the evening with His Excellency, Acting High Commissioner of Bangladesh, Mr Talha Khondker.

I look forward to working closely with CFOB programmes in the future and spreading the positive successes of the dedicated volunteers to party guests and delegations.
