  • Women Driving Political Change

Saturday, 2 July 2016

This Friday, I was invited to attend the launch of the West Midlands Conservative Women Organisation.
Parveen & Anthea McIntyre MEP

The event was attended by Conservative MEP Anthea McIntyre who spoke on bringing talent and more women as council candidates and parliamentarians.

Following the formal business of the annual meeting, I explained my vision for Birmingham CWO, the city has tremendous opportunities for women, and the importance of the Conservative women coming together to support local and national candidates whilst attracting new membership and supporters.

Nationally, CWO has a special place for women in history and welcoming new party members who wish to join the journey and committee. The launch was also supported my Conservative MP Mike Wood in the region

In the coming months, West Midlands group will introduce new fund raising events to help the organisation better engage with the next generation of Conservative female policy makers. It was a new start to do activities differently working across the regional wide counties and constituencies.

West Midlands CWO Committee
I am delighted Birmingham Heartlands CWO will be part of this journey, striving to work with the women in the city. It was a pleasure to see, South Staffordshire, Sandwell Conservative Federation, Bromsgrove, Sutton Coldfield, Wyre Forest, Coventry, Solihull and Meriden attend and be also elected on the West Midlands CWO committee.

I would like to thank the organisers for inviting me to this event, and further the opportunity to network with colleagues and volunteers who have dedicated their time to the party for several years.
