As we start to wear our poppies with pride, there are many reasons to make a particularly special effort to remember the sacrifices and courage of those who serve our country in the Armed Forces.

Last year, I visited the installation ‘Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red’ at Tower Bridge to mark the centenary of Britain’s involvement in the First World War. The ceramic poppies were mesmerising, each and everyone for each British military fatality during the war.

I look forward to paying my own tributes to our Armed Forces on Remembrance Sunday.
