  • Women Driving Political Change

Saturday, 15 November 2014

Tory peer, Karren Brady is out on the campaign trail supporting Conservative Candidate Kelly Tolhurst in Rochester and Strood. The Apprentice and business tsar is supporting businesswomen.

As Nigel Farage makes her shudder, on his comments over women in the workplace, we are ready to hear sound words of advice from the businesswoman herself.

What can aspiring business women learn about Karren's success? She is willing to share it through tips, advice, business working lunches, and the Conservative Party as the small business ambassador.

Karren's top tips

Nothing wrong with stay at home mothers.
They should be valued as highly as business women.
Dedication, patience and preserving makes women successful.
Looking after family is not menial work.
Childcare can be a barrier facing women at work today.

For Karren Brady's political ambitions, I was expecting her to take on an election seat for Westminster however Karren is fulfilling her functions through the unconventional route of retaining her skills and supporting Parliament and wider politics within the House of Lords. She accepted a peerage.

Karren has been supporting Conservative female prospective parliamentary candidates: Rachel Maclean, Lucy Allan and Kelly Tolhurst.
